Committed to the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and community service.

Our Volunteer Team

Our department is staffed entirely by dedicated volunteers who live and work right here in 70 Mile House and the surrounding Cariboo region. These are your neighbors—teachers, tradespeople, business owners, retirees, parents, and students—who leave their jobs and families at a moment's notice to help those in need.

Each member brings unique skills, backgrounds, and perspectives to our team, creating a diverse and capable force ready to handle any emergency. What unites us is a shared commitment to service, a passion for helping others, and an unwavering dedication to keeping our community safe.

Many of our members have served for years, some even decades, building institutional knowledge and mentoring the next generation of firefighters. This continuity ensures we maintain high standards while constantly evolving to meet new challenges.

Our History

Built on decades of service, dedication, and community spirit in British Columbia's Cariboo region.

Historical Foundation

Building the Foundation

From humble beginnings to a professional volunteer force, we've always answered the call to protect our community's safety and well-being.

Generations of Service

Generations of Dedication

Passed down through generations, our commitment to service remains as strong today as it was when we first began protecting 70 Mile House.

The Spirit of Rural Firefighting

Rural volunteer fire departments like ours represent the true spirit of community resilience. In areas where full-time fire services are not available, volunteers step up to fill a critical gap—often juggling full-time careers, family responsibilities, and the unpredictable demands of emergency response.

Our history is one of neighbors helping neighbors, of ordinary people performing extraordinary acts of courage, and of a community that comes together in times of crisis. This legacy continues to inspire every member of our team today.
