ALWAYS
READY
We provide a comprehensive range of emergency services to 70 Mile House and surrounding areas, delivering professional response when our community needs it most.
Our Emergency Services
From fire suppression to medical emergencies, we deliver rapid, professional emergency response across multiple disciplines.
Fire Suppression
Our primary mission is structural and wildland fire suppression. We are fully equipped with modern pumper trucks, tankers, and specialized apparatus to deliver water quickly and effectively.
Whether battling a structure fire in town or supporting wildfire operations in the surrounding forest, our team is trained in fire behavior, safety protocols, and aggressive interior and exterior firefighting tactics to protect lives and property.
MVA Response
Located near Highway 97, we frequently respond to Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs), providing critical scene stabilization, traffic control, vehicle extrication, and patient care.
Using hydraulic rescue tools (Jaws of Life) and advanced extrication techniques, we work swiftly to free trapped occupants while coordinating with ambulance and RCMP services to ensure comprehensive emergency care until patients can be transported to medical facilities.
Medical First Response
Our members are trained in CPR, first aid, and emergency medical response to provide immediate life-saving assistance in medical emergencies within our community.
As first responders, we arrive quickly to assess patients, provide critical interventions such as CPR, bleeding control, and airway management, and stabilize conditions until paramedics arrive. Every second counts in cardiac arrest and trauma situations.
Beyond Firefighting
Wildfire Mitigation
In partnership with BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), we support wildfire response efforts, conduct structural protection operations, assist with mop-up and patrol activities, and educate the public on FireSmart principles to reduce wildfire risk in our interface areas.
HAZMAT Response
Our team is trained in basic hazardous materials response, including identification, containment, and decontamination procedures. We work to secure scenes involving chemical spills, fuel leaks, and other dangerous materials until specialized teams arrive.
Public Education
Prevention is our best tool. We conduct fire safety presentations in schools, community centers, and public events, teaching residents about smoke alarm maintenance, escape planning, fire extinguisher use, and seasonal safety hazards like wildfire and heating safety.
Specialized Rescue
Beyond vehicle extrication, our capabilities include rope rescue, confined space awareness, water rescue basics, and search operations. We train regularly to maintain proficiency in these specialized skills for rural emergencies.
Equipment & Action
Modern apparatus and tools ready for any emergency scenario.
Our Response Commitment
When you call 911, our volunteers drop everything to respond. We train continuously, maintain our equipment meticulously, and stand ready 24/7/365 to protect our community.
